WHO WE ARE
Cub Scout Pack 52 is comprised of dozens of local families in Orinda, CA and is a member of the Golden Gate Area #023 Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Our pack has a membership of over 50 students divided into separate dens for each grade K-5. Pack families play a very active role in the success of our program, particularly in the planning and execution of den meetings and events. We welcome the participation of the entire family, including siblings, in all pack events.
WHAT WE DO
Pack 52 is dedicated to providing an engaging, fun and safe environment for elementary school boys and girls to learn new skills, make new friends and experience their connection to the larger community and the natural world. During the school year, we meet at Del Rey Elementary School at 6:00 PM on the third Wednesday of the month. Pack meeting themes include skill development (e.g. safety, map & compass, nature), local presenters (live reptiles! magicians!) and the highlight of the year for many - our annual Pinewood Derby.
Our Pack collects and delivers hundreds of pounds of food to the Contra Costa Food bank each Fall and regularly participates in community cleanup events and the local Fourth of July Parade. Pack 52 goes on two local camping trips per year and other local events. Den events may include hikes or trips to local parks, police/fire stations or museums.
WE WELCOME ALL MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY
Pack 52 extends an open invitation to any members of our community who want to contribute to the positive development of their children and other families. We believe that a diverse membership provides richer experiences for all, and specifically oppose the previous policy of the Boy Scouts of America banning the participation of gay scouts and gay or lesbian leaders.
